Frame box
A frame carrier is a beekeeper’s tool for easy and convenient carrying of frames or their temporary storage.
The frame carrier is made in the form of a box from 3 mm thick wood fibreboard. The strength of the construction is provided by a wooden frame. The box closes with a lid, which fits tightly to the structure.
The frame carrier is equipped with a strap handle made of strong synthetic fabric for carrying the box on the shoulder. This way of carrying frames is convenient and saves the beekeeper time. The equipment is designed for 6 Dadant frames.
The functionality of the frame box is complemented by an entrance hole (⌀ 15 mm) and a wooden entrance block.
Using the frame carrier
The frame box is especially popular during honey extraction. Even if the hive is located close to the honey extractor, thanks to the frame carrier the beekeeper does not have to carry frames one by one. This makes the work process much faster and reduces fatigue for the beekeeper.
The box is placed next to the hive. Before transferring a frame into the frame carrier, all bees are brushed off it. Small ledges inside the body ensure convenient placement of honey frames. To prevent bees from flying into the frame carrier, close it with the lid after each frame is placed inside.
The frame box is used for:
carrying bee frames;
transferring bees;
temporary storage of honey frames and frames after the honey flow;
holding a swarm (instead of a swarm box).
After use, the frame carrier should be cleaned of wax and honey. Store the frame box in a dry place.
