Moulds for making wax candles

Making a beautiful wax candle by hand is now easy and accessible thanks to this special mould.

The height of the silicone mould is 70 mm. The surface of the mould for making a wax candle is smooth, while the outside has an embossed pattern of bees and honeycomb, which is transferred onto the candle during casting. There is a slit along one side of the entire mould. This is needed so beekeepers can thread the wick through the hole. In addition, once the wax has set, the candle can be easily removed by opening the slit.

Making a candle using the mould

Before starting to make the candle, you need to prepare all the equipment. Beekeepers will need:

  • silicone mould;
  • wick;
  • rubber bands (2-3);
  • wax.

To make a candle, first melt the wax. This can be done in any way convenient for the beekeeper. While the wax is melting, prepare the mould: cut the wick to the required length and thread it through the hole in the mould so that it protrudes 15-30 mm from the bottom and top of the mould. After this, secure the silicone mould around the outside with rubber bands so that the wax does not leak through the slit.

Once the wax has fully melted, pour it into the mould, holding the wick in the centre of the opening until it stays in place by itself. When the wax thickens, remove the rubber bands and take out the candle. Trim the excess wick at the bottom and the candle is ready to use.
