Automatic 4-frame honey extractor. Stainless steel

A honey extractor is a device designed to make extracting honey from uncapped frames easier and more automated. There are two types of honey extractors: electric and manual. Manual honey extractors are operated by turning a handle connected to a gearbox. Electric honey extractors require a 12V supply, which can be provided by a standard battery or by any transformer with a 12V output. It is possible to purchase an electric drive and install it on a honey extractor with a manual rotor, which will make the extraction process much easier and faster. It is also possible to purchase a handle and, if required, fit it to an electric honey extractor.

All honey extractors work on a very simple principle: inside the body there are so-called cassettes into which honey frames, with the cappings cut off in advance, are placed. When placing frames in the cassettes, frames of approximately the same weight should be positioned opposite each other; this will reduce rocking of the honey extractor during operation. Once the honey extractor is fully loaded, the extraction process begins. The cassettes are set in motion, gradually increasing their rotation speed; the centrifugal force in the honey extractor cassettes increases, and honey gradually begins to flow out of the comb cells, collecting at the bottom of the honey extractor.

The honey that has collected at the bottom of the honey extractor is drained into a container for further processing. Each honey extractor has a special tap at the bottom of the body. Taps may be plastic or aluminium and may also have different diameters (small drain tap, large drain tap). If necessary, you can always replace the standard honey extractor tap.

In most cases, electric honey extractors are fitted with a control panel that allows you to adjust the rotation speed and operating time of the honey extractor, enabling optimal settings for extracting any type of honey. Each control panel has several factory-set honey extractor programs, which are usually sufficient, but you can always change them.
