Comb Grid for the Jenter Comb
White grid that accurately reproduces comb drawn by bees, with a thin layer of wax to ensure acceptance in the hive.
Comb grid for the Jenter comb (art. 003)
The grid is included in the Jenter comb kit and accurately reproduces the cell walls of natural honeycomb. After the cell cups are placed in the comb (cassette), the queen bee needs an imitation of a bee-built cell in which to lay eggs. The comb grid is specially designed as a continuation of the cell cups. This ensures that the egg laid by the queen bee is positioned in the centre of the cell cup.
The manufacturer, Karl-Heinz Jenter, produces the comb grid with a thin layer of wax. This wax means the beekeeper does not need to worry about the Jenter comb cassette being accepted by the bees. Once placed in the hive, the cassette is treated by the bees and the queen bee as their own natural comb. In just a few hours, the bees draw out the comb and it becomes integrated with the frame in which it is mounted, while the comb grid is covered with an additional layer of wax and propolis.

Please note: When working with the Jenter comb, be very careful. Do not use excessively hot water to clean the comb grid or any other parts of the set. To remove wax from the parts, the water should be around 65 °C (the melting point of wax).
